The following 5 tutorials demonstrate how to create artist maps using ArcGIS 9. I will assume that people who have access to this program will have at least a little knowledge of the interface. Having undertaken only an intro to GIS at the University of South Australia my knowledge is very basic. I apologise for incorrect terminology. The visual nature of these tutes should overcome any confusions.
The tutes concentrate on ArcScene, ArcGIS 9's 3d application. The shown techniques can be used in ArcMap where more design possibilities exist. A vast majority of my knowledge has come form trial, error and happy mistakes. I only touch the surface with these tutes and encourage experimentation.
Due to the size of these movies I have offered them as zipped (Flash) files for download. The movies are full motion with audio commentary.
The movies can be controlled via the bar at the bottom of the movie. Enjoy.
